How should the history of the Berlin Wall be remembered in the future?

In order to involve all stakeholders in the design of a national Berlin Wall Memorial,, Zebralog (in collaboration with Hans Hagedorn) developed a participation process for the Senate Department for Urban Development and the association Berliner Mauer e.V.

Taking place in 2006, the participation process was embedded into the larger planning process from 2005 to 2012 regarding the development of the three largest remaining parts of the Berlin Wall into a memorial..

In November and December 2008, Zebralog conducted an online consultation on behalf of the German Federal Ministry of the Interior. The subject of the consultation was  drafting of the “Bürgerportalgesetz” (Citizen’s Portal Act). This proposed legislation aimed at securing electronic communication on the Internet. (This was the predecessor of the De-Mail-Gesetz (De-Mail Act)). The site was visited by 11,000 people – of which, more than 1,000 people voiced their opinion on the proposed legislation.

The search for a repository for radioactive waste in Germany is highly controversial. To create a base for discussion and participation, Zebralog set up a transparency platform online in September 2011 on behalf of the Federal Environment Ministry. All important documents regarding safety analysis, exploration of the Gorleben salt dome, and the repository research were uploaded and made publicly available.
